Ensuring the good health of your family pet is paramount and animals are susceptible to a range of infectious diseases which can threaten their wellbeing and even prove fatal. It is vital that your cats, dogs and rabbits are vaccinated against potentially serious conditions annually to protect their health and that of your family as some illnesses, particularly canine, can be transferred to humans.

Grange Vets will ensure that your pet is thoroughly protected against diseases using the Nobivac  vaccine range. These safeguard against conditions such distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, leptospirosis and kennel cough in dogs.  As a practice we prefer to use Nobivac L4 vaccines so that we give the most comprehensive cover available ( some owners still choose to use the older Nobivac L2 form).

A puppy course is usually three vaccines over two or three visits (we will discuss what suits you best) and with most owners choosing to take their puppy out after his/her second vaccine.

Cats are protected against flu, enteritis and Leukemia using Nobivac Tricat / FeLV. As part of this Grange Vets offers kitten vaccinations with two visits from nine weeks old followed through with yearly booster.

Rabbits are vaccinated once yearly with Nobivac Myxo-RHD which can be given from a few weeks old combining a full 12 months protection against both myxomatosis and rabbit haemorrhagic disease. VHD-2 is a newer vaccine covering viral haemorrhagic disease.  As of May 2019, we recommend vaccinating your bunny every 6 months against this, as it seems to have become more prevalent.  This disease can cause sudden death.

Many of our pet parents choose to join out Pet Health Plan, to spread the cost of the routine care of their pets. Details can be found here.
