    Kim Morton

    Clinical Director

    BVSc MRCVS

    Kim qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2003 and returned to the north east immediately. She has worked at a number of local practices, ultimately becoming the Clinical Director of Grange Vets in spring 2018, returning to her hometown of Norton. Kim’s particular interests are behaviour issues, soft tissue surgery and avian species. She has a particular soft spot for Border Terriers.  Berry the border joins the 2 rescue cats at home.

    Rebbecca Smith

    Head Nurse

    Rebbecca joined Grange Vets back in 2008 as a student nurse after studying for a diploma in Animal Management at Askham Bryan College in York. She is now our Head Nurse and looks after the nursing team. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in February 2016, and has a particular interest in nursing inpatients and critical care of pets. Outside of work Rebbecca owns two dogs one Labradoodle and a Cavapoo.

    Shaun Cleary

    Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Shaun is a Registered Veterinary Nurse. He qualified in January 2018 from Myerscough College. He has worked at Grange Vets since 2002 after initially doing a work experience placement while still at school. He has a special interest in birds and their care, as well as assisting vets with X-rays and enjoys helping the clients and their pets which ever way he can. Shaun is also responsible for health and safety, radiation protection supervisor and general maintenance of the practice. He owns a little black and white cat called Nova, a Syrian hamster called Oreo and not forgetting his two guinea pigs Cookie and Sadie.

    Nichola Bateman

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Nikki has been a registered veterinary nurse since Feb 2021 and has been with Grange Vets since the end of 2019 where she completed her training alongside East Durham college. A strong passion of hers is welfare and husbandry, particularly in small furries. She has enjoyed learning more about nursing wildlife patients, and has even taken poorly hedgehogs home to continue their care. She shares her home with 3 cats and 2 rabbits

    Sarah Joined us as a student nurse in September 2019 after studying zoology at the University of Hull and discovering her love for animal behaviour and husbandry.  She is now a Registered Veterinary Nurse here and is particularly interested in post operative care and nursing consultations.  She currently doesn’t own any pets of her own so makes sure she gets extra cuddles off the patients who come to visit.

    Debbie Rowley

    Animal Care Assistant

    Debbie has been working in the veterinary industry for many years, mainly working as an animal care assistant and also done a few years on reception.  She enjoyed reception as she got to meet and great our clients but her passion is for caring for our patients and wildlife.  Debbie is the proud owner of two dogs Finlay and Dougal along side her two cats Marmalade and Barnard who she took in as a stray and is now loving life in his new forever home.  She also has a lot of love for wildlife and often has hedgehogs and birds rehabilitating at her home.
