Patient care
We are proud of our standards of care and are pet owners ourselves. From the moment you step through the door you can trust you and your pet will receive the best care possible. Our four qualified vets and five nurses are continuously updating their knowledge in the best interests of your pet.
Consultations
These are by appointment only which allows us to set aside the time to deal with your concerns properly. We are keen for owners to be able to book with a particular vet or nurse if they wish. Please don’t hesitate to ask when booking appointments. We will not keep you waiting in the waiting area for your appointment for more than forty five minutes (we say forty five minutes as emergencies do happen) and if we do, your next consultation will be free as we know how valuable your time is too.
We have four well equipped rooms, one of which is a dedicated nurse consultation room. Each of these is air conditioned for everyone’s comfort. We also have a quieter consultation room to give you the extra time and peace you might need if it time to say goodbye to your pet.
We are pro-active in managing concerns and will often run blood test or cytology examinations at the time of an initial consultation, having results the same day ( and within the hour) using our on-site laboratory. This means we can direct treatment accurately from the very onset.
In-patient treatment
We are keen to minimise stress for all our in-patients and so have separate dog and cat wards, both which are air conditioned for their comfort. We also prevent our cat patients being able to see other cats as we know cats are territorial creatures. These wards are next to our preparation area, which opens up into our modern spacious operating theatre, which is also air conditioned. Our diagnostic suite is next door to this. This means that distance from the operating area into the recovery or imaging areas are kept to a minimum.
All of our patients recovering from anaesthetics are monitored closely until they are able to stand. As we are pet owners ourselves, we understand you will be concerned when you leave your pet for the day and so we can update you on their progress throughout the day if you prefer.
