    Kim Morton

    Clinical Director

    BVSc MRCVS

    Kim qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2003 and returned to the north east immediately. She has worked at a number of local practices, ultimately becoming the Clinical Director of Grange Vets in spring 2018, returning to her hometown of Norton. Kim's particular interests are behaviour issues, soft tissue surgery and avian species. She has a particular soft spot for Border Terriers.  Berry the border joins the 2 rescue cats at home.

    Nikki Cordwell

    Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    BVM&S CertAVP MRCVS

    Nikki qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2015 initially following a career in mixed practice with a passion for sheep in north Yorkshire, she quickly realised that small animal practice was where she wanted to be. Nikki's particular interests are soft tissue surgery, nutrition and reproduction medicine. When not at work Nikki can be found out and about around the UK training or racing her Siberian husky and Canadian Eskimo dog teams

    Rebbecca Smith

    Head Nurse

    RVN

    Rebbecca joined Grange Vets back in 2008 as a student nurse after studying for a diploma in Animal Management at Askham Bryan College in York. She is now our Head Nurse and looks after the nursing team. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in February 2016, and has a particular interest in nursing inpatients and critical care of pets. Outside of work Rebbecca owns two dogs one Labradoodle and a Cavapoo.

    Shaun Cleary

    Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Shaun is a Registered Veterinary Nurse. He qualified in January 2018 from Myerscough College. He has worked at Grange Vets since 2002 after initially doing a work experience placement while still at school. He has a special interest in birds and their care, as well as assisting vets with X-rays and enjoys helping the clients and their pets which ever way he can. Shaun is also responsible for health and safety, radiation protection supervisor and general maintenance of the practice. He owns a little black and white cat called Nova, a Syrian hamster called Oreo and not forgetting his two guinea pigs Cookie and Sadie.

    Nichola Bateman

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Nikki has been a registered veterinary nurse since Feb 2021 and has been with Grange Vets since the end of 2019 where she completed her training alongside East Durham college. A strong passion of hers is welfare and husbandry, particularly in small furries. She has enjoyed learning more about nursing wildlife patients, and has even taken poorly hedgehogs home to continue their care. She shares her home with 3 cats and 2 rabbits

    Sarah Joined us as a student nurse in September 2019 after studying zoology at the University of Hull and discovering her love for animal behaviour and husbandry.  She is now a Registered Veterinary Nurse here and is particularly interested in post operative care and nursing consultations.  She currently doesn't own any pets of her own so makes sure she gets extra cuddles off the patients who come to visit.

    Hariane is one of our friendly Veterinary nurses and has been with us since 2017, previously as a student nurse and receptionist. During this time she has thoroughly enjoyed her role as she gets to interact with both clients and their pets.  She has a strong passion to be more involved with the patients we care for. Hariane has an incredible love for her four pets, two cats Evie and Margo along side Fred her bouncy labrador and her rabbit Ebenezer.

    Debbie Rowley

    Animal Care Assistant

    Debbie has been working in the veterinary industry for many years, mainly working as an animal care assistant and also done a few years on reception.  She enjoyed reception as she got to meet and great our clients but her passion is for caring for our patients and wildlife.  Debbie is the proud owner of two dogs Finlay and Dougal along side her two cats Marmalade and Barnard who she took in as a stray and is now loving life in his new forever home.  She also has alot of love for wildlife and often has hedgehogs and birds rehabilitating at her home.

    Rachel Conlon

    Receptionist (acting Head Receptionist)

    Rachel joined the team as one of our receptionists in 2021. Rachel completed a degree in textiles followed by 5 years in the interior design industry. Having always had a passion for animals it was her first dog Harris who inspired her to take the leap into the animal care industry. Working in a busy referral hospital from 2014 she specialised in small animal rehabilitation, becoming a qualified hydrotherapist in 2017. She has a passion for customer care and loves nothing better than seeing poorly pets feeling better and the happiness this brings to their owners. Outside of the clinic Rachel loves being outdoors and can often be found walking along the Northumberland coast or hiking in the Lake District with her two Border Terrier’s Harris and Eddie. She also shares her home with a cat called Pepper and her small flock of hens Bessie, Vera and Mildred.
